The lack of inclusivity is a dying society

I have seen more and more videos on YouTube, blog posts, articles, social media stuff, and everything in between, gatekeeping society from the most marginalized. We see how reproductive health takes a step back in the US. We see how LGBTQ+ people are threatened, and how racism has grown rampant lately.

We also see a world that most people think is falling apart. I need you to ask why. Studies show that more and more people have mental health problems, and the conservative right asks why constantly, while the left asks them to look themselves in the mirror. “How can everybody be depressed and anxious nowadays?!”… Well, I hate to break it to you, but you’re the problem if you aren’t open-minded enough to think about it before asking the question.

People will never thrive in a limited society. A narrow society is a dying society. Everyone agrees that the world isn’t great, but not all of us understand why. Some people argue and check places that don’t need to be checked. They’re looking outwards when they should look within.

I don’t say that all leftist people are perfect. It could definitely swing to the other side of extremism. But that’s not as harmful as the extreme right anyway. It’s not as common to be extremely left-wing as it is to be extremely right-wing. So yes, I will judge who’s carrying the baggage for a harmed society.

If it’s something I can’t stand, it’s people who refuse to learn new things. Who are stubborn and just need to use old-fashioned and outdated language. Who needs to chain themselves to very old traditions because it “has always been this way”. Yeah, that’s exactly the problem!

It’s like seeing yourself in that mirror I talked about above, but arguing that the background you stand in front of makes the image distorted instead of looking at the main object.

I think the greatest things we have are imagination and the ability to change. I improve myself every day because I’m certainly not perfect. I used to be intolerant, too. However, intolerance is a choice. So I chose not to be and to better myself. I’m a walking work-in-progress.

So my question is, what does your image in that mirror look like?
